FAQs

Bruges River Cruises Tours – Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some common questions from our guests. Always check your tour description and booking confirmation email for full details. You can also explore our most popular tours on our home page

How long is my tour?

Tour durations depend on the type of tour you book:

  • 2.5-Hour Walking + Canal Tour – Approximately 2.5 hours exploring Bruges by foot and by boat.
  • Rickshaw Tour – Tours typically last 1–2 hours, ideal for seeing Bruges’ highlights in comfort.
  • Walking Tour Only – Standard walking tours last 2–3 hours and can be customized for your group.

For private tours, we can tailor the itinerary and duration to your preferences. If you are joining a day trip from Brussels, Paris, or Amsterdam, travel time will be additional, and your itinerary will be clearly outlined in your booking confirmation.

Do I need to carry my passport?

Visitors do not need to carry their passports while touring Bruges, but it’s a good idea to bring a photo ID or a copy of your passport, especially if you’re arriving from another country.

What do I need to show my guide upon arrival?

You will receive an electronic copy of your tour and any tickets in your booking confirmation email. There’s no need to print your tickets unless specified—just bring yourself and your group.

Do you provide food and drinks on the tour?

Most tours do not include food or drinks. However, private tours can be adjusted to include lunch or a snack break, and our guides are happy to recommend the best local cafes, restaurants, and chocolate shops in Bruges.

Where will the guide meet us?

Meeting locations vary by tour. Check your booking confirmation for the exact location. For private tours or day trips from Brussels, Paris, or Amsterdam, your guide or driver will pick you up at your hotel, train station, or other specified location.

Do I need to wear a face mask?

Face masks are no longer required in Bruges, but you may wear one if you feel more comfortable.

Do I need to tip the guide or driver?

Tips are not compulsory, but guides and drivers appreciate gratuities for exceptional service. Any amount is welcome but entirely voluntary.
